Most common mistakes made on applications: No. 4
No. 4 of 5: Not demonstrating genuine interest in the firm
As mentioned, it's important we know you have clear reasons to apply to work at our firm as opposed to all the other choices. It's unrealistic for us to believe you are only going to apply for one firm and we are it - but at least try and find a few things about the firm that you honestly are interested in. It doesn't have to be a reiteration of the website either, maybe you have met a few current grads or lawyers and you had a connection. Or you are specially interested in a practice area which is very strong at the firm. Either way, have clear and concise reasons for applying to the firm.
